How the Oleo Dei Index is calculated
We collect
Each season we record the results published by the major competitions: EVOOLEUM, Flos Olei, NYIOOC, Mario Solinas and more. Every data point links to its original source.
We normalize
Medals are converted to points out of 100 with a public table. Numeric scores are used as-is.
We weight
Each competition is weighted by the rigor of its panel and its blind tasting. The index is the weighted average, always with the breakdown in plain sight.
